NEWS HIGHLIGHTS

Welcome to Karen Kalivoda, our newest member!  Karen was initiated at our April meeting during our general meeting.  We are so happy to have this wonderful enthusiastic member.  Karen was a student in Sweden for a year during high school and loved every minute spent there.

New Members Välkommen!



Next to Lucia, Midsommar is one of the most revered celebrations in Scandinavia.  Presque Isle State Park is the perfect location for Midsommar.  Everyone brought a dish to share, many put in hours of preparation. 

The best part was having about 15 of our 28 folks try their feet at dancing!  I have to admit, we looked a bit rough.   But with some good music and a bit of practice (well, maybe more than a bit) we'll be the pride of Vasa.  WARNING - we will be trying this again.    Thank you to Lynnette and Amy for their patience and expertise.

And a huge THANK YOU to everyone who came, wore their Svea Tshirts, and participated in Midsommar.

Our Swedish Connection

Our new website has garnered new friends - from Sweden, DL #19, Lodge #452 Goteborg, Sweden!  

Lars Andersson has been a wonderful ambassador for the Swedish Lodge #452.  Recently, Tom Hetrick, one of our members, traveled to Sweden.  Tom was able to meet up with Lars and was then introduced to others who helped him track his Swedish heritage.  Make sure you look at the photos Tom took of his journey and his new found Swedish friends on the Home Page.

Goteborg #452 recently celebrated their 100th anniversary.
